#27: How to Move a Product from Gate 4 to Gate 5

This guide explains how to complete the Gate 4 approval activities and progress a product to Gate 5 once pilot production and customer approvals have been completed.

 Purpose

To progress a product from Gate 4 to Gate 5 after pilot approval has been completed and launch readiness activities have been verified.

When to Use

Use this process when:

  • Pilot production has been completed.
  • Customer approval has been received.
  • Launch preparation activities have been completed.
  • The project is ready to progress to the next launch stage.
Before You Start

Ensure:

  • The product is currently in Gate 4.
  • The product has already been submitted to Finance Hub where required.
  • Pilot information is available.
  • Customer feedback has been received.
Steps

Step 1: Open the Product Record

  1. Navigate to the Launch Tracker.
  2. Open the relevant product.
  3. Confirm the current Gate Stage is Gate 4.

Step 2: Review Gate 4 Information

Review the launch approval section.

Check:

  • Label Setup Complete
  • NRM Codes Set Up
  • Pilot Dispatch Date
  • Pilot Completion Status
  • Customer Approval Status

Step 3: Complete Pilot Information

Update:

Pilot Complete

Select:

Yes

when pilot production has been completed.

Step 4: Complete Customer Approval

Update:

Pilot Approved by Customer

Select:

Yes

when customer approval has been received.

Step 5: Verify Launch Readiness

Confirm:

  • Label setup is complete
  • NRM codes have been established
  • Pilot production has been completed
  • Customer approval has been received
  • Outstanding launch actions have been closed

Step 6: Update the Gate Stage

  1. Locate the Gate Stage field.
  2. Select the next Gate Stage.

Example:

Gate 5
  1. Save the record.

Step 7: Confirm Progression

Verify:

  • The Gate Stage has updated successfully.
  • The product now appears in Gate 5.
  • Launch progression can continue.

Upon completion:

✅ Pilot completed

✅ Customer approval recorded

✅ Gate Stage updated

✅ Product progressed to Gate 5

✅ Launch workflow continues
