How to Create an Amend or Repeat Sample Request
This guide explains how to clone an existing Gate to create an Amend or Repeat Sample Request while retaining the original project information.
SOP: How to Create an Amend or Repeat Sample Request Purpose
To create a new sample request based on an existing project without having to recreate all project information manually.
When to Use
Use this process when:
- A customer requests amendments to a sample.
- A repeat sample is required.
- Additional development work is needed on an existing project.
- A revised version of a sample needs to be dispatched.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Existing Gate
- Navigate to the Sample Tracker.
- Locate the existing Gate.
- Open the Gate record.
Step 2: Select Clone
- Click Actions.
- Select Clone Gate.
- Wait for the Clone Gate window to open.
Step 3: Select Product Detail Type
- In the Product Detail field select:
- Amend
or - Repeat
depending on the customer's request.
Step 4: Complete Amendment Notes
- Enter details of the requested amendment.
- Clearly describe the required changes.
Example:
Increase seasoning level
Reduce salt content
Update sauce viscosity
Step 5: Review Delivery Information
- Review Delivery Notes.
- Update if required.
- Confirm customer delivery requirements.
Step 6: Update Sample Due Date
- Select the required Sample Due Date.
- Confirm the date aligns with customer expectations.
Step 7: Create the Clone
- Review all information.
- Click Clone.
- Confirm the new Gate has been created.
Outcome
Upon completion:
✅ New Amend or Repeat request created
✅ Original project information retained
✅ Amendment requirements documented
✅ New sample request enters the workflow

❌ Selecting Amend when Repeat is required
❌ Not providing sufficient amendment notes
