SOP 11: How to Submit Product Costing Information

This guide explains how to complete the pricing section of a product record by entering RM Cost, Exposure information and supporting costing notes.

 Purpose

To record accurate product costing information within HubSpot to support commercial assessment and project decision-making.


When to Use

Use this process when:

  • Costing information becomes available.
  • Product pricing is being reviewed.
  • A project progresses through the development process.
  • Exposure costs need to be recorded.

Before You Start

Ensure you have access to:

  • SPC information
  • Raw material cost information
  • Exposure details
  • Commercial pricing information

Steps

Step 1: Open the Product Record

  1. Navigate to the relevant product record.
  2. Open the Pricing section.

Step 2: Enter RM Cost

  1. Locate the RM Cost field.
  2. Enter the raw material cost manually.
  3. Verify the value is correct before saving.

Note: RM Cost should be manually entered using the approved costing information.


Step 3: Enter Exposure (KG)

  1. Locate the Exposure (KG) field.
  2. Enter the relevant exposure quantity.

Example:

100 KG

Step 4: Enter Exposure Price (Per KG)

  1. Locate Exposure Price (Per KG).
  2. Calculate the value from the SPC information.
  3. Enter the price.

Example:

€100.00

Step 5: Complete Exposure Notes

  1. Locate the Exposure Notes field.
  2. Record any supporting information relating to exposure costs.

Examples:

  • Exposure assumptions
  • Costing references
  • Product-specific notes
  • Commercial considerations

Step 6: Review Information

Confirm:

  • RM Cost is accurate
  • Exposure quantity is correct
  • Exposure pricing has been entered
  • Notes have been completed where required

Step 7: Save Changes

  1. Save the record.
  2. Confirm all costing information has been updated successfully.

Outcome

Upon completion:

✅ Product costing information is recorded

✅ Commercial visibility is improved

✅ Pricing information is available to relevant teams

✅ Project progression can continue
